About This Piece
A seated wealth deity is framed by a rectangular border beneath a pierced crest. The reverse contains a circular petal-shaped inscription motif, shown separately in the close-up.
Carving details and what to examine
Openwork creates actual openings through the jade, so the surrounding bridges are part of the structure as well as the design. Look at both faces and the inside edges under changing light to assess the finish and check for damage around these narrow connections.
