Green Hetian Jade Plaque: Horse, a Wish for Success, 52.6 g

No. This individual piece has already been collected and remains online as a reference. You can ask Yufu Jade to look for a similar material, form or carving subject; any new piece is documented and quoted separately.

A rearing horse rises above rocks on a dark oval panel. Strongly polished relief catches pale highlights against the darker background; the broad reverse remains undecorated. Compare the outer profile in the full view with the smaller carved details in the close-ups. An angled view helps separate changes in surface depth from differences caused by lighting. Photographs are useful for studying the composition, but do not establish the maker, the tools used or a workmanship grade.

The listed dimensions are 58 x 37 mm, approximately 2.28 x 1.46 in. Compare these measurements with a ruler to judge the scale. Listed weight: 52.6 g. Confirm the suspension opening and any included cord or fittings.

The horse is a familiar emblem of energy, achievement and forward movement in Chinese art. Carved depictions range from compact resting animals to figures shown in motion. Read this as the traditional subject of the carving, rather than a statement about its age, maker or a promised effect on the owner.
