About This Piece

A softly arched plaque carries two small landscape motifs separated by an open field. Only the two clear photographs are suitable for the gallery; the source's first image is a very small thumbnail.

Carving details and what to examine

Read the landscape from its outer outline toward the smaller architectural and natural details. Changes in spacing and carved depth can suggest distance on a small surface. Side-lit close-ups help distinguish raised details from shadows cast by studio lighting.

Material and stated origin

This plaque is listed as pale greenish-white nephrite and depicts Magnificent Mountains and Rivers. Its stated origin is Xinjiang, China; the geographic attribution is separate from mineral identification. The supplied description notes yellow skin. This is a description of appearance, not confirmation of treatment status.
