White Hetian Jade Plaque: Prosperity and Long Life, 89 g

No. This individual piece has already been collected and remains online as a reference. You can ask Yufu Jade to look for a similar material, form or carving subject; any new piece is documented and quoted separately.

A pair of birds rests among carved foliage beneath an arched upper edge. Warm skin colour touches the side, while the white raised feathers stand out against the recessed background. The animal details reward a close view of how small lines meet the larger body forms. A rotated video can show the continuity of the outline and the transition from patterned areas to broader surfaces. The photographs alone do not establish the tools used or the time spent carving.

The listed dimensions are 70.4 x 41.2 mm, approximately 2.77 x 1.62 in. Compare these measurements with a ruler to judge the scale. Listed weight: 89 g. Confirm the suspension opening and any included cord or fittings.

Birds and flowering plants are familiar elements of Chinese auspicious art. The title adds a wish for prosperity and long life to the scene; the interest of the piece lies in how those elements are arranged in the relief. Read this as the traditional subject of the carving, rather than a statement about its age, maker or a promised effect on the owner.
