About This Piece
A broad Wushi panel has a pierced curling crest and smoothly rounded corners. The central face remains undecorated, with only a fine framing line around the open field.
Carving details and what to examine
Openwork creates actual openings through the jade, so the surrounding bridges are part of the structure as well as the design. Look at both faces and the inside edges under changing light to assess the finish and check for damage around these narrow connections.
